Now that the weather is perking up a bit, I'm absolutely loving the pop a bright corally-red nail brings to just about any outfit.  Here, Olivia Palermo shows how a simple red nail can lend a happy splash of color to a more muted palette of black and denim.  Ever since I was little, I have always opted for vampy red nails (was never a fan of the typical girly bubble gum pink), and leaning towards a coral-toned version instantly updates the hue for Spring (not to mention it will compliment those punchy neons that are popping up everywhere!).  I also love how fresh this color looks with nautical stripes and white jeans...grab some classic Ray Bans and you will certainly be exhibiting some great taste this season...

Try Essie's "Flirt" or "Coral Reef," or OPI's "Cherry Red" to brighten up those nail beds! Keep nails short and squared off to avoid looking too vamped up - bold hues on long nails are never a good combo!

Just when you think Kate Spade New York can't get any better (have you seen the Spring line?!), they go and create a fabulously fanciful wedding line!  Brides-to-be will be in marital bliss with her new line of whimsical accessories full of punchy color and tons of panache.  For those without a groom (or with lots of soirees to attend!), not to worry - most of the line is totally wearable with or without a gown to accent - I'm in love with the little hot pink clutch and all of the gorgeous jewels!  So chic and fun.  Not to mention, I can't help but smile at the amazing campaign photos - makes me want to throw on a pair of fuschia tights and dance the night away with a sparkley glass of champagne!

happy weekending!

Boston-bound this weekend, and although the weather is supposed to be less than perfect, looking forward to taking a brisk walk down memory lane while spending time with some very special people. I love all of the history and charm this city exudes and can't wait to visit all the old favorite haunts (and perhaps a few new spots as well!). Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend full of good friends and fun...

So I am really into bold/colorful contemporary art right now (post to come), and totally fell in love with this fantastic painting I came across on the blog, vivaamore. With the daffodils peeking through and the Cherry Blossoms already in bloom, it's safe to say that I have a serious case of Spring fever!  Not to mention, I'm going crazy over all the amazing Spring lines that keep popping up...here is a little wish list of bright finds that are making me stir-crazy for sunny weather!

Bold prints and Ikat are nothing new; however, I will always be mesmerized by both. There's something about vibrant color layered and interpretted into lively patterns that will always make me happy. Pucci, Lilly Pulitzer, Diane von Furstenberg, and the likes have all lent a bold whimsy to their designs through delicious, color-drenched prints, while still reflecting their daring visions tastefully. Artist and designer, Madeline Weinrib, added herself to the list when she started designing carpets in 1998. As the grand-daughter of ABC Carpet & Home founder, Max Weinrib, its safe to say that Madeline is practically interior design royalty on her own, but it's her modern take on traditional prints that gave her a coveted spot on the 'must have' lists. At her 6th floor atelier at ABC Carpet & Home, Weinrib reinterprets the traditional with prints inspired by her travels abroad, and transforms them into fabulous pillows and rugs, unique furniture pieces, and accessories ranging from evening bags to table linens. I think its safe to say that if I had my way, I would probably cover my entire home (and self!) in Madeline's creations - here's a peek at just a few of her amazing designs...

champagne wishes + caviar dreams...

I've always had an affinity for champagne, but after coming across these 2011 Moet & Chandon ads starring Scarlett Johansson, my love for the bubbly instantly went straight to my head.  There is nothing more simple, yet elegantly delightful than a sparkly glass of champagne...unless of course, you pair it with a dime-sized indulgence of caviar.  For your next cocktail gathering, consider serving the celebratory drink with equally exquisite Potato Pancakes with Smoked Salmon, Dilled Creme Fraiche and Caviar (they sound complicated, but they're really very simple).  Bon Appetit [tres chic]!

GOOD TASTE TIP: Not in the mood to light the stove?  Whip up the creme fraiche the night before and layer the smoked salmon and caviar* atop simple black bread, toasted french bread (sliced thinly) or small, substantial crackers.  For a less extravagant night in, serve this delicious hors d'oeuvre paired with a nice Pinot Noir or Pinot Grigio. 

*Caviar may be replaced with a simple sprig of dill for those less-inclined to this delicacy.
